World Sight Day

Today, October 9, 2014, we are celebrating WORLD SIGHT DAY!

This takes place annually around the world and is a day to focus attention on blindness and vision impairment.  The theme for World Sight Day 2014 is "NO MORE AVOIDABLE BLINDNESS!"  More than 600 million people globally are needlessly blind or visually impaired due to the fact they cannot access adequate and proper eye health care.

"Optometry Giving Sight" is an organization supporting the World Sight Day Challenge - helping transform lives in need.

Would you join the challenge and give a donation to this worthy cause?  Visit this website World Sight Day  and click on the World Sight Day Challenge! There is more information about this day and also an opportunity to give an online donation!!

Thank you from Drs. Hansen, Pietig, and Young, and the staff of Ankeny Family Vision Center for helping us observe this important day in the lives of many of the most unfortunate people in the world!!
