It Is SOOO Bright!!

Did you know that when your eyes are exposed to excessive amounts of UV radiation, you may experience "sunburn" of the cornea?  Did you also know that you may be exposed to UV rays reflecting off surfaces like SNOW?  It is extremely bright these days with all that snow reflection!

UV rays can also damage the skin of the eyelid as well as the cornea, lens, and other parts of the eye!  The "sunburn" is a painful condition including symptoms of red eyes, foreign body sensation or gritty feeling in the eyes, extreme sensitivity to light and excessive tearing.  It is usually temporary and rarely causes permanent damage.

BUT...over time, continued exposure to UV radiation can cause serious harm to the eyes and AGE them prematurely!  There is also research that show this to increase the chance of developing cataracts and eye cancer.  Long-term exposure may also lead to macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in adults in the United States.

The importance of sun protection should not be overlooked - adults and children alike!  Do you have sunglasses that offer appropriate UV protection?

We offer many lines of sunwear, including Maui Jim.  We also offer the ability to put sunglass lenses in any frame we have - and we have over 1000 frames to choose from!  Transition lenses will also offer protection, too!

Stop in...protect those eyes...and ladies, keep those eyes looking YOUNG by having a gorgeous pair of sunwear!!
